TurboScribe is one of the most popular consumer AI transcription apps, and for many jobs it is excellent. Market research is not most jobs. This guide compares the two honestly, on the things a research team actually pays for: what happens to mixed Hindi and English, whether the translation sits beside the original, whether a colleague can check a quote against the audio, and what a wave of fieldwork costs.

A transcription app produces text. A research transcriber produces evidence: timecoded, speaker-labelled, translated beside the original, and traceable to the second so a claim in a report can be checked.
TurboScribe and InquiSight both turn recordings into text with AI, and both handle Hindi, Tamil, Bengali and the other major Indian languages. That is where the similarity ends. One is a personal productivity tool priced per user. The other is a transcription and translation service for research teams, priced per audio minute, with the analysis of those transcripts as an optional next step. Which one you need depends less on accuracy percentages and more on what happens to the transcript after it is made.
TurboScribe is a web app built on OpenAI's Whisper models. Its public site lists 98+ languages, speaker recognition, a "transcribe to English" option, translation of transcripts into 134+ languages, and exports to DOCX, PDF, TXT, SRT and VTT. Files can be up to ten hours long, fifty at a time. It offers three transcription modes, from fastest to most accurate, and claims 99.8 percent accuracy.
Pricing is a subscription for one person: free for three files a day of up to thirty minutes each, or Unlimited at $10 a month billed yearly, about INR 11,300 a year, or $20 billed monthly. There is no per-minute charge and no cap on minutes on the paid plan. For a solo researcher, journalist, student or podcaster, that is a very good deal.
InquiSight's transcription service is one part of a consumer research platform. Recordings from interviews, focus groups and field visits are uploaded to a project, and the AI-Transcriber returns a transcript in the original language and an English translation side by side, with a timecode on every turn and a speaker label on every speaker. Any line can be clicked to play the recording from that second, edited in place, and every download follows the edit. The optional AI-Analyst then writes question-level, section-level and executive findings with the clip behind every quote.
Pricing is per audio minute: INR 10 a minute for transcription and translation together, in bundles from 1,000 minutes, INR 8 a minute from 5,000 minutes. If you are one person with English or single-language audio and you want raw text quickly and cheaply, TurboScribe wins on price and simplicity. Unlimited minutes for the cost of a lunch is hard to argue with. Its exports cover every common format, its speed is excellent, and for clean audio in a supported language the Whisper models are genuinely strong.
It is also the better tool for subtitling video, transcribing lectures or podcasts, and any job where the transcript is the finished product rather than the raw material for a report.
Three things break down when a general-purpose tool meets fieldwork. The first is code-switching. Indian respondents move between English and their mother tongue mid-sentence. A tool that asks you to pick one language per file will force that speech into one script, and the brand names, product terms and English phrases that researchers care about most are exactly what gets mangled. InquiSight transcribes mixed speech as spoken and translates it beside the original.
The second is traceability. A finding in a research report is only as good as the quote behind it, and the quote is only as good as the ability to hear it. The subscription is cheaper on paper. The bundle is cheaper the moment you count the hours a researcher spends turning raw text into something a client can trust, and it is the only option that produces findings rather than text.
Is TurboScribe good for Hindi?
For single-language Hindi audio it is reasonable. The weakness is mixed Hindi and English, which is how most Indian respondents actually speak, because the tool asks for one audio language per file.
